Heavy Rain Warning in Southern Taiwan, Taipei and New Taipei City on High Temperature Alert

The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain warning due to southwest winds causing short-duration heavy rainfall in parts of southern Taiwan with chances of thunder and strong gusts. The alert covers Tainan City, Kaohsiung City, and Pingtung County. As the rainfall eases, the probability of heavy rain decreases, leading the Bureau to lift the warning at 4:10 PM. Additionally, high temperatures caused by southwest wind subsidence have led to a scorching day with Taipei City, New Taipei City, Hualien County, and Taitung County under a yellow heat alert. The highest temperatures recorded were 37.1 degrees in Yuli, Hualien County, followed by 36.5 degrees in Jin Feng Township, Taitung County, and 35.9 degrees in Shezi, Shilin District, Taipei City.
