Reported about 1 year ago
In recent years, major pandemics such as SARS, H1N1, and COVID-19 have led to a significant increase in the workload of chest physicians, resulting in a decline in the number of young doctors willing to enter the field. Concerns have been raised that the shortage of chest physicians may pose a national security crisis during the next epidemic. Due to the cyclical nature of global major infectious diseases occurring every 5 to 10 years, the reluctance of young doctors to join the field may create challenges in frontline medical care.
