KKR & Co. co-founder Henry Kravis responded to climate activists who disrupted his speech criticizing the firm's fossil-fuel investments, stating that they underestimate the challenges in transitioning to clean energy. Kravis emphasized the significant investment needed to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and expressed uncertainty about achieving that goal entirely. The incident occurred during a panel discussion at the Conference of Montreal where the protesters accused him of involvement in a controversial pipeline project in Western Canada. Last week, the project raised a record C$7.15 billion in new debt for construction costs.
