High Demand at Changxing Junior High School in Changhua County! 168 Students Waitlisted, Parents Disappointed

Reported 12 months ago

With the decline in birth rates leading to school closures, Changhua County introduced regulations to control the total number of students admitted to its 15 junior high schools and primary schools, ensuring fair allocation of student quotas. Changxing Junior High School, known as a prestigious school, had 168 students placed on the waiting list this year out of 661 applicants, causing distress among parents. Many parents complained that despite living in the school district and meeting other criteria, their children were not admitted due to technicalities like household registration issues. Changxing Junior High School's reputation for academic excellence and extracurricular activities has attracted a high number of applicants from various townships in Changhua County, presenting a challenge for school admission management and prompting the county to implement quota regulations to maintain equitable school populations.
