On June 23, 2024, over a hundred monitoring stations recorded temperatures above 35 degrees, with Yunlin registering a high of 38 degrees. Due to the influence of the Pacific high-pressure system, various regions across Taiwan experienced scorching temperatures this morning. Yunlin's 38.5 degrees topped the charts, followed by Tainan's 37.7 degrees and Taipei's Shizi and Taitung's Jinfeng at 37.6 degrees. With temperatures soaring, the public is urged to be cautious of heat-related illnesses as an orange alert is issued for several regions for consecutive 36-degree temperatures. Yellow alerts are also in place, advising against unnecessary outdoor activities and emphasizing sun protection and hydration to prevent heat injuries.
