Hawaii has reached a settlement with pharmaceutical companies, including Bristol Myers Squibb and Sanofi, totaling $700 million over a lawsuit concerning the blood thinner Plavix. Initially, a court had ordered the companies to pay $916 million, but the settlement was agreed upon before an appeal could take place. The companies expressed satisfaction in resolving the litigation, while Governor Josh Green hailed the agreement as a significant victory for the state.
