According to Yahoo News, on June 30, 2024, Taitung County saw temperatures soar to 41 degrees Celsius in Jinlun at 1:50 PM, Taipei City's Shilin District also reached 39.1 degrees. The Central Weather Bureau issued high-temperature alerts for 16 counties and cities, warning of extreme heat conditions in Taipei City and Taitung, with the probability of temperatures reaching 38 degrees. Thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon in various regions as people are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against heat injuries amidst the scorching weather.
