On the 27th anniversary of the Hong Kong sovereignty transfer on July 1st, under the implementation of the Hong Kong National Security Law and the National Security Law (Article 23), the 'July 1st' march in Hong Kong has disappeared for five consecutive years. The Mainland China has introduced two pro-Hong Kong measures, including gifting a pair of giant pandas to Hong Kong after 17 years and issuing Mainland travel permits to non-Chinese permanent residents of Hong Kong for five years, starting this month. The public trust in the government, confidence in Hong Kong's future, and social happiness indicators in Hong Kong have hit historical lows, along with rising international concerns over Hong Kong's 'mainlandization'.
