The Hong Kong woman, who works in the tourism industry, was fined 200,000 NTD for attempting to bring Hong Kong famous mooncakes containing pork ingredients as gifts to friends in Taiwan while on a cruise stop in Kaohsiung. Although the woman had already left Taiwan, her concerned friend paid the fine as she frequently travels between Taiwan and Hong Kong for work, and out of guilt for her being fined. The Kaohsiung enforcement agency accepted the payment and reminded the public not to bring unquarantined pork products from abroad, emphasizing the seriousness of African swine fever prevention measures and potential penalties under the Animal Infectious Disease Prevention Act.
