Hot Pre-Sale Market Leads to a Six-Year Low in Construction Permits Issued

Reported 8 months ago

According to the statistics from the Ministry of the Interior, the number of residential construction permits issued in the first four months of this year was about 37,400, marking a six-year low since 2019. This contrasts sharply with the hot pre-sale market sales conditions. The quick sales of pre-sale properties have caused delays in developers keeping up with the pace, mainly due to high land prices, difficulty in integration, and the central bank's control over developers' funds. This mismatch between demand and supply may lead to further price increases if not addressed by policy measures.
