According to a 30-year statistics of temperatures over 30 degrees, Tainan has experienced 186 days above 30 degrees, equivalent to over half a year, surpassing Hengchun's 169 days. The latitude difference and lack of sea breeze in Tainan contribute to its higher temperatures. The intense heat has impacted various aspects of life, like sun-drying noodles and requiring people to seek refuge in air-conditioned spaces. With Tainan experiencing over 30 degrees for most of the year, it has been titled as the hottest city in Taiwan.
