The Central Weather Bureau warns of a heatwave in Taiwan caused by a high-pressure system, with high temperatures expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius and above in southern Taiwan, particularly in the Kaohsiung-Pingtung area, due to a prolong period of sinking effect and prevailing easterly winds. The public is advised to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and avoid prolonged outdoor activities to prevent heatstroke or heat-related illnesses.
