How Long Will the Sweet Potato Weather Last in Taiwan? Wu Derong Reveals 'At Least Until This Day'

Reported 11 months ago

Today, afternoon convective activity gradually developed in the mountainous areas and some flatlands of Taiwan. Although the morning remained sunny, thunderstorms occurred in the afternoon, starting in the north and gradually moving southward towards Tainan. Accompanied by lightning and heavy rain, some areas experienced rainfall exceeding 60 mm. Meteorologist Wu Derong forecasted similar high temperatures and rainfall for the following day, especially in the mountainous areas in the afternoon. The high pressure system south of Japan will continue into the week, resulting in hot and sunny weather with the possibility of thunderstorms. Temperatures in Taipei are expected to reach 36-38 degrees Celsius. The hot and sunny weather is predicted to last until at least next Tuesday, with unstable conditions persisting due to the edges of the high pressure system. Afternoon thunderstorms are expected to continue until next Tuesday, with rain forecasted for the region.
