Reported 2 days ago

Hong Kong police have arrested two men, aged 32 and 33, for allegedly diverting electricity from care homes to power cryptocurrency mining machines hidden in office ceilings. The unauthorized mining operation reportedly increased electricity bills by about $1,153 (HK$9,000) monthly. The case emerged after staff at one care home noticed slow internet service, leading to the discovery of concealed equipment.
