Hsinchu Baseball Field Soil Not Sent for US Inspection from Start to Finish, Public Works Director Reveals: Unsure where it was dumped.

Reported 8 months ago

The controversy over soil sampling at Hsinchu Baseball Field continues as DPP Hsinchu City Councilor Liu Kang-yan exposed that Public Works Director Chen Ming-zheng admitted in a city government group chat that the soil was never sent to the United States for inspection, criticizing Mayor Gao Hong-an for lying and demanding a public apology, as well as a promise to ensure the field can host games in the second half of next year's season. The field was suspected of subpar workmanship and material substitution, with Gao Hong-an claiming to have sent the soil for inspection immediately after she took office. However, it was revealed a year later that the seven bags of soil were never actually sent, leading to accusations of dishonesty.
