A couple from Hsinchu was traveling to Yilan for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday and was involved in a fatal motorcycle collision. The 41-year-old rider, surnamed Liao, was hit by a car driven by a 45-year-old surnamed Tong, resulting in severe injuries that led to his death. The accident occurred at the intersection of Nanjin Road and Huanshi South Road in Yilan, where Liao's motorcycle collided with Tong's car as Tong attempted to make a left turn. Despite immediate medical attention, Liao passed away due to the extent of his injuries.
