TCnews reported on June 22, 2024, that Prime Minister Cho Rong-tai visited the Modern Life Building in Hualien City to inspect the progress of structural reinforcement. The building received a subsidy of 45 million NT dollars for reinforcement work, with the Ministry of the Interior also providing rent subsidies to ease the financial burden of affected residents during the construction period. The government has revised subsidy regulations to provide up to 15 million NT dollars for each damaged building, aiming to offer substantial assistance efficiently. Cho emphasized the commitment to supporting Hualien residents in the reconstruction efforts. Government agencies are actively cooperating with the private sector, providing consultations and assistance for earthquake reinforcement work in Hualien.
