Hualien County independent councilor Lin Yuanfu publicly revealed that his wife Chen Xiuling had an improper relationship with Hualien County Ji'an Police Sub-bureau Chief Wu Sihan. In response, Chen Xiuling released 3 statements refuting the extramarital affair allegations and accusing Lin Yuanfu of long-term domestic violence. She claimed that the knife incident was in self-defense and countered with the statement that her phone holds illegal evidence against Lin Yuanfu.
