Huang Kuo-chang accuses exclusive interview of being edited, Fan Chi-fei hits back against attacks from onion supporters

Reported about 1 year ago

In a recent exclusive interview with media personality Fan Chi-fei regarding parliamentary reform, the People First Party caucus convener Huang Kuo-chang complained that his criticism of the Democratic Progressive Party's speech content was edited, expressing dissatisfaction with Fan and the program production team drawing conclusions, which he deemed disrespectful. Following this, Fan Chi-fei, who had already released a clarification video yesterday, posted a lengthy response on Facebook today (June 10). She clarified that every episode is edited to ensure a smooth viewing experience and quick information absorption. Fan Chi-fei further explained that their purpose is to encourage discussion and engagement with the issues, hence including a concluding segment with team members, which is quite different from traditional media practices. She emphasized the importance of rational communication and compromise in a democratic society, urging for a foundation of trust to be established to avoid continually resetting discussions. The controversy surrounding the interview editing and conclusion takeaway has sparked contention between different factions with Fan Chi-fei being accused of bias towards the ruling party, a notion she refuted as absurd.
