Reported 10 months ago

Taiwanese People's Party legislator Huang Kuo-chang held a press conference on June 16, 2024, addressing the issue of the Hsingta Power Plant illegally discharging wastewater and the cover-up by Taiwan Power Company high-level officials. Responding to former President Ma Ying-jeou's statement that China's attack on Taiwan is 'the first battle is the final battle,' President Lai Ching-te emphasized during a speech at the 100th anniversary celebration of the Whampoa Military Academy that he unequivocally rejects surrenderism. In contrast, Huang Kuo-chang expressed that while he does not welcome or accept 'the first battle is the final battle,' national leaders should demonstrate wisdom to prevent the first battle. He emphasized the importance of leaders avoiding the initiation of the first battle and addressing how to prevent conflict, as the ultimate test for national leaders.
