A writer experimented with a traditional Nordic sleep practice recommended for infants, where babies nap outside in the chilly air, based on the belief that fresh air helps regulate body temperature and promotes a healthy immune system. Adopting this method in her own bedroom by exposing it to lower temperatures before bedtime dramatically improved her sleep quality, allowing her to fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Despite challenges adapting the method to hot summer months, she found the experience beneficial and plans to continue the practice.
