Insurance companies in Taiwan are warned by the Financial Supervisory Commission to avoid unfair treatment towards disabled individuals applying for insurance, as they may face penalties. The Deputy Director of the Insurance Bureau, Lin Chih-Hsien, stated that disabled individuals encountering rejection during insurance applications can file complaints through three channels: contacting the FSC hotline, reaching out to the Insurance Association for Disabled Individuals, or directly addressing the insurance company's customer service. The FSC has fined a total of 12 cases in 2021 and 2022 for unfair treatment towards disabled insurance applicants, with fines totaling NT$720,000 per case.
