On June 21, 2024, at Taiwan Mobile's annual shareholders' meeting, Chairman Tsai Ming-Chung expressed that despite only three telecom companies remaining in the industry, future competition will be more intense. Tsai emphasized the importance of 'healthy competition,' which requires not only courage but also intelligence, highlighting the need for strategic and wise business decisions. He mentioned the challenge faced by all three telecom companies of being labeled as 'dumb pipes,' unable to provide value-added services. Taiwan Mobile, after merging with Taiwan Star, reported significant revenue growth and profit, attributing the success to employees' efforts in overcoming challenges during the merger process to enhance competitiveness in the telecom industry.
