The People First Party's Legislative Yuan convener Huang Kuo-chang announced the intention to invite former Premier Lai Ching-te to deliver a state of the union address at the parliament. Following the recent enactment of parliamentary reform laws, opposition parties are setting up investigation teams to probe corruption cases. The President's Office urged respect for the seriousness of the constitution amidst calls for President Tsai Ing-wen to appear before the Legislative Yuan for the annual address. Huang criticized Tsai for allegedly reneging on commitments and suggested she was willing to violate the law.
