Reported by Lu Sulun, on June 23, 2024, at 6:40 am, The Times of Israel shared that a 67-year-old Israeli man, Amnon Muchtar, was shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in the Palestinian Authority-controlled city of Qalqilya. Muchtar allegedly entered the city illegally seeking to buy cheaper produce. He was shot in his car and later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. Following the incident, a large number of Israeli forces entered the city. The Israeli military is investigating the shooting, suspecting it to be a terror attack but not ruling out other motives. Many Israelis ignore the ban on entering Palestinian cities to shop due to lower prices compared to Israel.
