Jack Dorsey, co-founder of Twitter and CEO of Block, is developing a Bluetooth messaging app called Bitchat, which allows users to send messages without Wi-Fi or cellular service by utilizing Bluetooth mesh networks. Claiming an extended range of up to 300 meters, the app aims to facilitate communication in crowded places, similar to existing apps like Bridgefy that have been pivotal in protests due to their end-to-end encryption and internet-free functionality. Bitchat is currently in beta testing and has reached its maximum user capacity.
