On June 22, 2024, a Japan Airlines flight encountered cabin pressure abnormalities, leading to discomfort in 11 passengers. This incident is currently being investigated by the Transportation Safety Commission as a 'serious event' that may have led to a potential accident. The Boeing 737 aircraft was flying from Nagasaki to Nagoya when it experienced cabin decompression at around 7600 meters altitude over Wakayama Prefecture. Oxygen masks were deployed briefly, but the situation normalized after descending to about 3000 meters. The plane landed safely at Nagoya Chubu Airport, although 7 passengers and 4 crew members reported symptoms like ear pain and fatigue.
