Japanese Companies Brace for Potential Trump Tariffs

Reported about 12 hours ago

A recent survey by the Japan External Trade Organization reveals that most Japanese firms operating in the U.S. are gearing up for potential tariffs under the new Trump administration. The survey, which included 694 companies, showed that nearly 75% of the 123 respondents expecting tariff impacts foresee negative effects on their business. Companies are considering increasing manufacturing in the U.S. and raising product prices in response, while significant concerns were raised regarding U.S. excise taxes and a proposed 60% tariff on Chinese goods affecting supply chains.
