In Tokyo's Nichidaim, a newly completed 10-story building facing Mount Fuji obstructed the iconic view, causing uproar among locals who were looking forward to the scenery. The building, set to be completed next month, was abruptly demolished after facing backlash for blocking the mountain's vista. Despite multiple revisions to the construction plans following concerns raised in 2021, the developer chose to cancel the project, citing inadequate environmental assessment and returning the down payment to buyers. The decision left nearby residents disappointed and businesses anticipating new clientele at a loss, ultimately compromising with the decision in front of the revered Mount Fuji in Japan.
