Japanese YouTuber, Yasuo Shimotsuka, who lives in Taiwan, shared the differences between Taiwan and Japan regarding offering seats to the elderly on trains. He mentioned that in Japan, elderly people might refuse the seat the first time out of unique etiquette, but they are likely to accept it on the second offering. This is similar to the Japanese etiquette of initially refusing gifts before accepting them. Shimotsuka emphasized the importance of persistence in offering the seat and explained that the act is part of Japan's unique cultural manners.
