Exclusive report on July 2, 2024, at 11:16 pm highlights the issuance of new Japanese yen banknotes in Japan, including denominations of ¥10,000, ¥5,000, and ¥1,000 with enhanced production costs and leading anti-counterfeiting technologies. The latest banknotes are set to be delivered to financial institutions as early as the 3rd of the month. The Bank of Japan is implementing advanced security features like 3D holographic projection on the new banknotes, featuring portraits of key historical figures. Major banks like Saitama Resona Bank have already started dispensing the new banknotes, and other institutions like Mitsubishi UFJ Bank will offer them at select branches. Over 27,000 ATMs of Seven Bank across Japan will also provide the new banknotes. The update in banknotes prompts adjustments in cash registers, meal ticket machines, and various vending machines countrywide to accommodate the new currency, with the majority of financial institutions' ATMs, supermarkets, and railway ticket machines ready for the new banknotes.
