On June 19, 2024, at 9:08 AM, well-known YouTuber Joeman (real name Jung-Ming Weng) has received a deferred prosecution in the marijuana case. Last November, Joeman was arrested by the New Taipei City Criminal Brigade for suspected marijuana use and possession. After hair and urine tests showed no positive drug presence in his system, the using part was not prosecuted. However, the illegal possession was acknowledged, requiring Joeman to make a written confession and receive a deferred prosecution for a year. As part of the deferred prosecution, Joeman will be performing 100 hours of community service. Two others, Leila Ho and her husband Yutang, were also involved in the case, and similarly received deferred prosecution for possession and will serve 48 hours each of community service. The reconsideration requests by the Prosecutor General's Office were rejected, finalizing the deferred prosecutions for all three individuals involved.
