Competitive eater Joey Chestnut will skip the annual Nathan's Famous Fourth of July hot dog eating contest in NYC and instead compete at an army base in Texas this year. Chestnut, known for winning the NYC event multiple times, will face off against soldiers at Fort Bliss in El Paso in a 5-minute hot dog eating contest. The decision came after a sponsorship conflict with event organizers led to his exclusion from the NYC competition. Chestnut hopes to return to the NYC event next year but requires an apology from the organizers.
