Justice Department files antitrust lawsuit to attempt to split up Live Nation-Ticketmaster; Company responds, calling it a "baseless" PR maneuver.

Reported 5 months ago

The Justice Department has filed an antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation-Ticketmaster, accusing the company of stifling competition and driving up prices for consumers. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan, seeks to break up the merged company, alleging that Live Nation-Ticketmaster engaged in unlawful, anticompetitive conduct that harms fans, artists, smaller promoters, and venue operators. Live Nation-Ticketmaster has responded by calling the lawsuit "baseless" and arguing that the DOJ's actions won't address the issues fans care about regarding ticket prices, service fees, and access to shows.
