Kyle Larson's attempt to compete in both the Indianapolis 500 and NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 on the same day was thwarted by rain, leaving Justin Allgaier to drive the No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet in the Cup Series race. Despite the challenges, Allgaier persevered and finished 13th in his first Cup start in two years. Crew chief Cliff Daniels provided guidance to Allgaier throughout the race, resulting in an impressive performance. Larson, disappointed by the weather interference, expressed gratitude for the experience and hoped for another opportunity in the future.
