The Kaohsiung City Government is distributing financial aid to disadvantaged single-parent families, with each child under 15 years old eligible to receive up to NT$2,661 per month and those aged 15 to 18 and still in school eligible for NT$2,313 per month. Families with two or more qualified children are also eligible. To qualify, families must have resided in Kaohsiung for over six months, have a total monthly income below 1.5 times the minimum living cost per person, and meet certain asset value criteria. Various conditions, such as the death of a spouse or abandonment by a spouse, also make families eligible for the aid.
