The Central Weather Bureau issued a heat alert for 17 counties and cities, with the highest temperature today recorded in the Qijin District of Kaohsiung City at the 'Kaohsiung Lighthouse' reaching 39.9 degrees. The Bureau warns the public to beware of heat injuries and advises precautions to avoid outdoor activities, work, and exercise unnecessarily, use sunscreen, stay hydrated, and prevent heat injuries. Various areas have been issued orange or yellow heat warnings, with temperatures in some areas reaching up to 37-39 degrees Celsius.
