Developments in Taiwan's delivery industry have seen a surge, yet delivery workers and consumers lack protections, with issues like unfair pay and fatigue-related accidents surfacing. Kaohsiung recently passed the 'Delivery Platform Operators Management and Autonomy Regulations,' covering contracts, insurance, occupational hazards, hygiene management, and traffic accidents for delivery workers. However, criticism deems it as a version that is 'unsatisfactory but a step towards progress,' emphasizing the need for more comprehensive provisions to safeguard delivery workers' rights and address concerns like fair pay, traffic accidents, and food safety during delivery processes.
