Due to a bus in Keelung leaking oil, ten people were recently injured from falling off. Keelung city councilors criticized the procurement of 'second-hand buses' by the government, causing safety concerns, and urged the prioritization of replacing old vehicles to ensure public safety. A long trail of oil stains along a kilometer of road in Keelung due to a leaking bus led to injuries, including seven broken ribs. The city currently has 164 buses with an average age of 9.25 years, purchasing 22 second-hand diesel buses this year due to lack of funds for new electric buses, raising safety issues and concerns for citizens waiting longer for transportation.
