In order to strive for fair tax distribution and enhance citizen welfare, Independent Hsinchu Mayor Kuang Hung-an led a team from the city government to visit the Legislative Yuan with bipartisan city council members to meet with both the Taiwan People's Party and Kuomintang caucuses. Kuomintang welcomed Kuang with a 'heavyweight lineup,' including President and Vice President Han Kuo-yu, Chiang Chi-chen. Han jokingly likened Kuang to Snow White as he welcomed her. Kuang urged the caucuses to consider the high national taxes contributed by Hsinchu City in the current revision of the financial planning law. Kuomintang is working on a revised version that aims to address the unfair distribution and hopes to promote local development and prosperity collaboratively between the central and local governments.
