During a press conference at the Legislative Yuan of the People First Party, Chairman Ko Wen-je criticized President Lai Ching-te for applying for a constitutional interpretation, comparing him to Hitler, and stated that it was a disrespect to Taiwan's democracy and freedom. The Presidential spokesperson responded by calling Ko's remarks the greatest insult to Taiwan's democracy and freedom, going beyond the constitution, spreading rumors, and distorting facts. The People First Party's Huang Kuo-chang also questioned Lai Ching-te's actions and promises made before the election, accusing him of deception. Ko Wen-je and Huang Kuo-chang were criticized for distorting Lai Ching-te's promises and manipulating information.
