While Samsung dominates the smartphone market in South Korea, especially with 75% using the Galaxy series, the younger generation shows a preference for Apple over Samsung, with 65% of 18-29 year-olds owning an iPhone. Despite Apple's limitations in South Korea, such as with iMessage and Apple Pay, the popularity of the iPhone among the youth is attributed to factors like Wi-Fi, K-pop culture, and social status. Additionally, Samsung's efforts with innovative products like the Galaxy Z Flip have attracted attention from the youth but whether it can shift the preference from Apple remains to be seen.
