President Lai Ching-te recently announced the establishment of the 'National Climate Change Response Committee,' 'National Defense Resilience Committee,' and 'Health Taiwan Promotion Committee' at the Presidential Office, where he will personally serve as the convener. This move has been criticized as creating unnecessary bureaucracies. In response, Kuomintang Chairman Chu Li-lun pointed out the irony in the situation, highlighting how in the past, when former President Ma Ying-jeou attempted a similar initiative, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) accused him of power expansion and acting like an emperor. Chu Li-lun questioned whether Lai Ching-te's actions were any different.
