Opposing lawyers who successfully argued against Elon Musk's record-setting 2018 pay package for Tesla are now requesting an unprecedented $5.6 billion in stock-based legal fees, which would be 17 times the largest fee in Delaware history. The legal team represented plaintiff Richard Tornetta, a Tesla shareholder, and won the case earlier this year. While Musk has expressed strong opposition, the decision is pending approval or denial of fees by the Delaware Court of Chancery on July 8.
