Viven, known as the 'Goddess of Long-Term Care,' made a difficult decision at the age of 46 to become a caregiver to look after her stroke-impaired father. She ended her publishing business to return to her hometown in Taichung to care for her elderly parents. Viven learned caregiving skills by watching instructional videos for a night and quickly became adept at tasks like diaper changing and feeding. Realizing the importance of cognitive learning and physical training for the elderly, she pursued studies in elderly services at Minghsin University of Science and Technology and underwent training at 'Lai Tech,' a center promoting independent living for the disabled. Viven expressed gratitude for the progress she sees in the individuals she cares for, despite challenges like dealing with emotionally distressed patients suffering from dementia. This story highlights the dedication and compassion required in caregiving roles for the elderly.
