Learning to Grow Old: Listening to Complaints Leads to 23 Innovations

Reported 12 months ago

When Tsai Fang-wen became the executive director of the Shuanglien Nursing Home, he displayed the word 'listening' prominently in the research center. This word stemmed from complaints made by the elderly residents, which eventually led to the development of 23 innovations. By actively listening to the complaints and suggestions of the elderly, Tsai and his team collaborated with various organizations to develop customized products that catered to the needs of the elderly, such as specialized chairs and an upgraded elevator system with 72 infrared points to prevent accidents. The center continued to operate successfully even after Tsai's retirement, with all the advancements attributed to listening to the voices of the elderly.
