On June 14, 2024, at 1:39 a.m., the Legislative Yuan's 'Haunted Elevator' malfunctioned, trapping both blue and green committee members for over 10 minutes. This elevator is known for urban legends, such as sudden malfunctions and abrupt descents. DPP legislator Lai Jui-lung and KMT legislator Lin Si-ming were stuck when the elevator door wouldn't open despite attempts. Lai Jui-lung called for improvements in the Legislative Yuan's elevators, expressing concerns over safety and frequent incidents like this one.
