The Executive Yuan recently presented reconsideration cases for the 'Exercise of Legislative Yuan's Powers Act' and the 'Criminal Code,' which were previously passed through the third reading in the Legislative Yuan, citing 7 main reasons. Following a two-day explanation and inquiry session with Premier Su Tseng-chang on June 19 and 20, the Legislative Yuan voted on the two reconsideration cases today and both were not approved with a vote of 62:51 under the collaboration of certain party members. The cases involved issues such as contempt of parliament offenses, expanding hearing and investigative powers, and presidential reports. The opposition alleged procedural flaws, undemocratic actions, among others, leading to the rejection of the reconsideration motions.
