Minister of the Interior Liu Shih-fang stated that the new Qingan mortgage policy, with nearly 50,000 loans issued, has played a role in suppressing housing prices despite being criticized as a cause of the overheated housing market. The Ministry of the Interior suggests that no further interest subsidies be added to avoid further price increases if the central bank raises interest rates. Liu emphasized that the policy is beneficial primarily for first-time young homebuyers and has been effective in curbing housing prices amid concerns of excessive capital inflow affecting the market.
