Taiwanese liver disease patients see an annual increase of over 10,000 individuals despite being vaccinated, with the possibility of B hepatitis infection. To address this, the Liver Foundation is once again providing free abdominal ultrasound screenings and encouraging individuals aged 40 and above to participate. Statistics from the Ministry of Health show that approximately 13,000 people die each year from chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, and liver cancer, emphasizing the importance of not overlooking liver issues in Taiwan. Early detection leads to early treatment, thus the foundation's initiative aims to facilitate timely diagnosis and preventive care for liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, and kidney conditions among older adults.
